WARM DOWN
The warm down allows the athlete to rid of the lactic acid in their muscles. It involves a gradual decrease in intensity, for example a jog down to a walk. Stretching of every muscle used throughout the session needs to be stretched. Holding a stretch for approximately 30 seconds before releasing, will give the muscle the stretch it require.
Having a successful warm down means that the athlete with have less chance of being sore and stiff the next day, consequently, then the turnaround between sessions can be quicker
Warm down :
- Slow jog to half way and back
- Slow walk to half way
- Walk back while doing stretches
